Committees and Projects
Every Rotarian should belong to at least two committees. Every time you volunteer or attend a meeting for a committee you earn a make-up for attendance if you are unable to attend a future regular lunchtime meeting.
Adopt-A-River and River Stewardship
We support the Santa Fe Watershed by contributing $2,000 every year and using other resources of time and energy to keep the river clean.
Club members volunteer time to clean up the river, our designated area is the stretch of theriver betweenSandoval and Guadalupe Street.

Join this committee by volunteering an hour or two and learn when we meet. Email the chair.
Fun Committee
We believe in fun and fellowship! Activities are organized throughout the year to provide opportunities to get together just for entertainment and fellowship. There is no fundraising involved unless a ticket must be purchased to cover expenses. Most Rotarians attend these events to have a chance to talk outside of the formal programed meetings, families may also attend events. There are four annual events among the many other spontaneous get togethers and they are: Voting and awarding the F.U.N.-est Rotarian Trophy (Thanksgiving), Holiday Get-together, New Member Summer Party (to get to know new members) and the Opera and Tail-Gate Party in August.
Since 2001 Rotarians have cast their vote for their "F.U.N.-est" (acronym for Fabulously Unserious Nutcase) and the winner gets to keep the Rubber Chicken Award for the entire year of their reign. Every winner's name is engraved on the base of this prestigious honor. A second and third place winner are also honored if for any reason the winner cannot fulfill their duties.

Rotary Reads in the Public Schools
Rotary Readers are now being connected with their teachers and students. Pinon, now in its second year, is well on its way. Chaparral is just getting organized, so please be patient if you haven't heard from the school yet. Thanks to the Rotarians (and friends and spouses) who are helping out our elementary school students.
Each time a Rotarian “reads” is worth a club make-up. Let Lorraine Goldman know the school and date you read, so that you can get attendance credit. For any questions or concerns, or if the school hasn't contacted you, please let Lorraine know right away.

Projects
‹ A group of volunteers on a house-build project in San Ysidro.

‹ Cherished Memories. A group of Santa Fe Rotarians - and some family members - working on a school for the Tarahumara Indians in the Copper Canyon, Mexico. We get our hands dirty volunteering, learning, laughing, and working side-by-side whether it's in our own backyard or helping our neighbors 21 hours away.
(There's many more committees to be heard from, please check back as we continue to populate this section.)
